. Anyone with a pulse still look at this tribe? Seems our Moderator is no longer here. I seem to recall a certain reluctance from him to take the post in the first place.
.
. Anyway, anyone else still look here?

I'm still subscribed, of course, but if no new posts show up on my homepage, there's not much point in looking at the tribe, is there? There hasn't been a new post in over two months. Guess I'll have to start something:

Anyone here still playing 3rd ed.? My intermittent Steampunk campaign started in 3E. When 4E came out, my players' consensus was, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I tried converting the characters as an excercise, just to get a handle on the new system. And I've played 4E in a couple of other camp[aigns, and enjoyed it greatly. Still, I've got a LOT invested in 3E books (almost 50). Kind of hate to see it go...

. I understand the not broke don't fix attitude. I was fortunate to be gifted with 4e books as my 3e was less than complete when my kids discovered RPG's. (I had thought I was done with them years ago, even selling first edition AD&D stuff)

. Need to go through and glean cultural aspects from cyberpunk and Shadowrun (as I have quite a few 1st ed SR books).

. Currently plotting a new world for Gurps, with quite a variety of settings.

. Came back to GURPS just as 4th ED was getting established. We sort of decided to run 4th ED so we would not have to dig for used copies. In the end, it is a matter of preference. As you say, if it ain't broke, don't fixit.
      .
. With a system as pliable as GURPS 4th vs 3rd is almost a moot point, as seldom does such a system stay stock. It begs customization and tweaks, thus a true generic 'standard' is the exception, not the rule.
